Preparation:
1. Peel, core, and cut the apples into eighths.
2. Place the apple pieces in a saucepan, add the water, lemon juice, and vanilla sugar. Simmer with the lid on for about 12 minutes, until the apples are soft.
3. Add the cinnamon and blend everything with an immersion blender or a regular blender until smooth and creamy.
Tip:
The applesauce will keep in the refrigerator for several days. If you pour the hot applesauce into sterilized jars and seal them immediately, it will keep for several weeks. This way, you can prepare it in advance and always have it on hand.
