KIKU apple chutney

KIKU apple chutney

...ideal for grilled meats and cheeses

  • 1 kg peeled, cleaned and diced Kiku apples
  • ½ kg peeled and diced onions
  • 250 g raisins
  • 60 cl. apple vinegar
  • 350 g cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of very finely cut ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon of cayenne powder
  • grated peel of one orange and one lemon
  • 120 g sliced almonds


Preparation:
Place all the ingredients except the almonds in a saucepan and cook on a low flame until creamy. (approx. 1 hour).
Add the almonds and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
Store in glass jars and allow to cool in a cool place.
