The KIKU® family grows with south tyrolean company Fratelli Clementi srl, located in Leifers. Clementi is a vertically integrated company, from production to trade. The KIKU®s are produced in own orchards, and in partner companies located in north italy. Fruit is packed in the new packing centre in Leifers, and fresh KIKU® are already available in italian wholesale markets. „KIKU® is a unique apple: it is ruby red, very attractive, sweet and juicy. KIKU® has best eating quality already from the tree, and develops the exotic taste from the beginning. KIKU® has also very good storage properties, and long shelf-life. KIKU® is, in other word, a modern apple," explains Richard Clementi, owner of the company. „But the quality of the apple is not the only reason for joining Premium Brand KIKU®: we observed KIKU® carefully in the last years, the development is impressing and global. Like others, we are convinced of the brand policy, from now on we differentiate our product from the global competitors using the brand KIKU®. In the blue box, loved because of the fresh and young image with the apple logo and the slogan FRESH APPLE EMOTION , consumer can find exclusively high quality. And this consumer is our most precious person, we talk to him with precise promo activities to create a brand awareness."

Jürgen Braun, general manager of KIKU GmbH: „With the new Partner Clementi we cover the Italian territory, but the opportunities for further expansion in other european countries and even out of Europe are enormous. As a consequence, we will put even more effort into increasing brand notority, investing in unique marketing and comunication activities. Our concentration goes to the point of sale, especially tastings: consumer are informed about the quality and way to enjoy KIKU®s during tastings with specialized persons. We combine it with winning games, like tickets for the INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN SUMMIT where KIKU® acts again as Partner and Sponsor. Also the winner of the new foto competition KIKU®, starting soon on foodtainer and www.kiku-apple.de, has the chance to win important prices. Parallely we run other partnerships and unique sponsoring. The „Snowleopard", the ghanese skier Kwame, partecipated at Winter Olimpics in Vancouver 2010 creating global interest, will attend the 2011 World Championship in German Garmisch-Partenkirchen. We are already preparring ways to present the Snowleopard and KIKU® adequatly."

„In the next weeks", continues Braun, „fresh KIKU® will be picked in all other member countries of the KIKU® family: Germany, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Greece. Forcasts of the KIKU®-Pool Europe speak about more than 15.000tons KIKU® - one KIKU® beside the other is the distance Helsinki to Gibraltar and back!

In near future, this distance shall be increased, the consumer sensitized and new markets developed. Last summer, KIKU® South Africa and KIKU® New Zealand sent container of KIKU® to Asia, and consumer were enthusiasted because of the superior taste and the fresh CD/CI. Also US Partner CMI, who started offering KIKU® in 2009, opened new markets. Coming autumn 20.000 bushels KIKU® will be available in the USA, coming from CMI and other Partner Rice Fruit and Applewoods, who present KIKU® at specialised fair PMA."
