Rubbing shoulders with top mountaineers
The world's best mountain climbers will be coming together for a unique summit meeting in Brixen, South Tyrol, from November 3 to 8, 2009. The great legends of the mountains such as Reinhold Messner, Hans Kammerlander and Sir Chris Bonington as well as big names like Alexander Huber, Stephan Siegrist and Simone Moro have accepted an invitation to the International Mountain Summit® 2009.
Those intending to visit can look forward to a comprehensive program featuring exciting lectures, expert round tables and analyses, plus a side program of activities. The world's finest in mountaineering will be closely integrated in the program. Hikes with the professionals and climbing competitions are also planned. Fans of the great outdoors can sample the latest trends and products in mountaineering and active sports at a trade fair that will be held simultaneously.
And in the evening, visitors can meet the crème de la crème over a traditional "Törggelen" meal and drinks in any of the numerous Brixen inns. Peter Habeler, Christoph Hainz, Ines Papert, Roger Schaeli, Doug Scott and Heinz Zak have also agreed to come. The International Mountain Summit® will close festively with an awards ceremony.
